Importance of Keeping a Motel Clean

When you are running a hotel or motel, or any other establishment for that matter, it is very important t to ensure the premises is kept as clean as possible. If a guest arrives at your motel for the first time, and they notice the carpets are dirty, or the walls have not been painted in many years, they are not going to think very highly of your business. Even if you are kind and courteous, and their room is as advertised on your site, they are not going to recommend your motel to anyone else.

Aside from showcasing your best side to customers and clients, keeping establishments such as hotels and motels clean is also a health issue. When you do not take the time to ensure every single room, and the common areas, of a motel are thoroughly cleaned on a daily basis, the entire property can become a hotbed for infections and bacteria. The last thing you want is for your guests to feel as though they are getting sick because of your hotel. While you cannot prevent every little bit of bacteria, cleaning regularly goes a long way towards keeping an establishment as sanitary as possible.

Safety is another concern for the motel management. Things such as the air conditioning and furnaces need proper maintenance and cleaning if they are going to operate correctly. When it comes to the furnace, it is vital to ensure it is being cleaned at least a couple of times a year. The first moment to clean a furnace is before winter begins, because you do not want to turn it on for the first time to find that it is not working properly. And the second cleaning should always happen in the middle of winter, especially if the furnace was used a lot over the past couple of months.

There are a few main components to the furnace system, and they all require proper cleaning. The filtration system, blower and motor all need regular cleaning and maintenance. With the filters, it is a good idea to ensure they are clean every week. Filters often need replacing when they get dirty, and a simple look at the color of the filter should give you an idea about how much of a shelf life it has left. Even though you may think changing out the filters is an unnecessary expense, it can make a huge difference to the efficiency of the system and to the air quality at your motel.

With the blower and the motor, it may be necessary to contact a professional to have them properly clean and maintain these items. Unless you have someone on your staff who has the expertise to open up these parts of the furnace system, it may be best leaving the job to a professional. You do not want to find yourself in a position where you attempted to clean the blower or motor, and ended up causing damage to the structures.

As long as you are keeping your furnace, and other parts of the motel, clean, everything should continue to run smoothly!
